Obituary of Mary Marguerite Bicknell

BICKNELL: Mary Marguerite Bicknell, died February 6, 2011 at Rideau Park Personal Care Home. . Prayers will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 327 – 4th Street, on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:30 a. m. with Fr. Dominic Yuen as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Brandon Cemetery. Marguerite was born to Ozzie and Madge Bicknell on December 31, 1924 in Dana, SK and moved to Brandon with her family in 1928. She is survived by sisters; Iris Souliere and Noreen, brothers Ken (Vivianne), Terry (Judy), Ted (Mary Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Madeleine and Joan James. Marguerite will best be remembered in Brandon for her professional nursing career, which culminated as Assistant Executive Director in charge of patient care at Brandon General Hospital. She also served as the President of M.A.R.N. and on a number of provincial health committees. The family will remember Aunt Muggie as a caregiver to her mother and sister Joan, and all her nieces and nephews who loved and admired her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Egan and the staff of Rideau Park Personal Care Home for the loving, tender care that they gave to our sister Marguerite.
