George to say the least was a character, he always had a smile and a story to tell whenever i seen him. I truly enjoyed coming back to the reunions, seeing him at the gym or Canex and sharing a laugh. He was one of the pillars of the Shilo/Sprucewoods community and will be missed. RIP George.

So sorry to hear of George's passing...I saw him not long ago & he would always ask about my young son. He would always have a loonie or toonie for him for his education fund. I met him through a neighbor when he came on our trail ride. I didn't know him well but he was such a friendly and kind soul whenever our paths crossed. Our sympathies to his family & friends. Dear Joan,
My husband Greg and I had the good fortune to meet George two years ago at an event in Cypress River. We found out that he had stayed with my husband's grandfather when George was a boy. I appreciated his easy going nature and loved getting cards from him at Christmas. So glad our paths crossed albeit briefly. Saddened to hear of his passing and want to send our sympathy to you and your family.

George was a true and delightful inspiration to all of us at the Adult Learning Centre in 1998-1999. We admired George for his courage of returning back to school, it must not have been easy for him but he certainly earned a lot of respect for doing so. George told a lot stories; about his younger life, his career, his Family and why he came back to school ...they were unique and everyone listened. We always cheered him on when he expressed his thoughts on the amount of homework he had to do at his age!! It didn't help him any, but he was never shy of speaking up.
It was a pleasure knowing George and I express my heartfelt sympathies to his family for the loss of such a wonderful & warm loving man!!

Sad to read of Uncle George's death. We had many good conversations when we met by chance and were glad to rally with him at the protest against the closing of the Veterans Affairs Office in Brandon, he was a thoughtful man, Delphine and Harold McLenaghen

On behalf of the staff and students of Elton Collegiate and Forrest Elementary school, we would like to pass on our condolences to the family of George Bell. George was kind enough to volunteer his time every year at our Remembrance Day service and we looked forward to always seeing him. He reminded us that a world free from conflict requires diligence, dedication, and self-sacrifice. His service in the Canadian Forces made a difference to people within our country and abroad. His kind disposition lent a human face to all the soldiers we wanted to pay tribute to.
He spoke frequently about his peace-keeping mission in the Suez region and how poor people seemed to be in that region. He also told about how lucky he was to spend time with his wife touring Europe in recent years.
We will truly miss him, and we feel fortunate to have had him in our lives.
Sincerely,
Dean Beaubier
Elton Collegiate
