Obituary of Orval Albert Kreller
KRELLER: Orval Albert passed away peacefully on January 18, 2014, at his residence at Fairview Personal Care Home, at the age of 94.
Dad was born on November 6, 1919, at Empress, Alberta, and grew up on a ranch in the Social Plains District. He joined the army as a young man and while stationed in Winnipeg, met the love of his life, Jean Boorman. They married on August 19, 1942, in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1946, they settled on a farm in the Brandon Hills District where they raised their family of four boys. They were active in the farm community and continued farming until 1962, when they moved into Brandon. Dad was a social person and loved dancing, card games, camping and travelling. He was a country boy at heart and was happy to be able to keep his hand in the farming life by helping son, Wayne, with his farm operations.
Family was everything to Dad, and he thrived on keeping up with each of his sons and their ever expanding families. He was always genuinely interested in the lives of every child, grandchild and great-grandchild and for him it was a priority to attend school, sporting and family events.
Dad was always a true gentleman. He had a keen sense of humour, huge smile, loving hugs and a calm, gentle presence. On January 18, 2014, our family lost the wonderful man in the big white Stetson and we will all miss him very much.
Orval was predeceased by his parents, Albert & Beatrice Kreller, wife, Jean, infant son, Dale, daughters-in-law, Marion Kreller and Gail Kreller, sister and brother-in-law, Edith & Art Carter, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roy Boorman, Em & Els Hudson, Fred & Isabel Boorman, Kay Boorman, Muriel & Harvey Cruikshank. Orval will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by sons, GLEN – David, Alison (Lorne) Demchuk, Ella & Adam; WAYNE (fiancée, Ronelda Paddock, Rebecca, Sarah) – Kerry (Darrell) Kowalyk, Melyssa, Chantal; Michael (Tanis) Kreller, Delton, Clayton, Nathan; Brent (Tara) Kreller, Kobi, Baylee; Tracey (Kyle) Hoglander, Taliyah, Easton; DOUG (Beverley) Kreller - Terry (Addy) Kreller; Dallas (Krista) Kreller, Jayden; Whitney (Ryan) Kreller-Lamont; BRAD (Debbie) Kreller - Matthew, Deanna, Andrea, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service was held at Central United Church on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren and Shirley McBurney officiating. Interment followed at the Brandon Hills Cemetery.

"IN OUR HEARTS"
We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too
We think of you in silence
We often speak your name
Now all we have are memories
And your picture in a frame
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our heart.
