So sorry to hear of Donald's passing, our long time friend that James has known for about 75 years. Their friendship dates from the time they lived at Third and Lorne in Brandon before they started school. Our families spent every Christmas and New Years together and often visited during the year. Donald's father was our family doctor and delivered James' younger brother, David. He and Lois and Erik warmly welcomed us and our sons Christopher and Michael into their home. Donald's family were avid supporters of the Liberal party and this made for lively discussions. Later in life Donald was Official Agent for some of the local Liberal candidates and was especially proud of the one time they elected as a local MP. Donald was also an avid golfer in previous years and when at university took up bridge, a vocation he pursued for decades and won awards for several victories. After finishing his BA at Brandon College, obtaining a law degree at the University of Manitoba and pursuing a career in law, he was always willing to answer our legal questions and offer wise advice. When Cathryn came into our lives more than 30 years ago he and Lois welcomed her and our daughter Ashley into their home. We will truly miss our lively conversations and his warm hospitality.
