Obituary of Tena Kilmury

Tena Kilmury of Brandon, MB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. Tena, as she was affectionately known, was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was born on September 2, 1931 to Martin James Kenny and Winnifred VanDerzee, in a little old log house in the Ashern, MB area. Tena was predeceased by her loving husband Harold, brother Martin and two sisters, Lily and Aneta (Bill). She is survived by her three children: Danny (Fay) Kilmury, Martha (Ken) Martens, and Miriam Hammond; grandchildren Danielle, Jason (Jana), Tara (Travis), Darcy (Leah); great-grandchildren Wade, Jack, Marlee, Myles and Jack. A Celebration of Tena’s Life will be held at the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive, on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Darryl McAuley officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Brandon Cemetery following the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Fairview Foundation for the Orchid Lounge in memory of Tena Kilmury.
