Audrey Mae Sadler passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 peacefully at home with family by her side.

Audrey was born April 17, 1920 in Brandon, MB. She was the eldest child of Owen Abner and Verna Mae Brown (Jones). She married Robert Needham Sadler of Elgin, MB on October 26, 1938.

Audrey was predeceased by her parents and stepmother Fedra, husband Robert, infant daughter Linda, son James, foster son Wayne, her siblings Jim, Calvin, Bob, Betty and Diane Brown; Robert’s siblings  Cliff, Howard, Earl, Mildred, Isobel, Lila and Carson Sadler.

Audrey will be lovingly remembered by son William; daughter- in- law Barbara; daughter KerriMae, son- in- law Ted, 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and foster children.

Audrey had a great love for children starting at age 11. When her mother died of cancer, Audrey took on the role of looking after her four siblings. From 1952 to 1985, Audrey and Robert looked after more than 150 foster children in the CFS system. During her retirement, she continued to help children as a volunteer at Rivers Elementary School. She also enjoyed many years of attending the seniors drop in center. Audrey loved card games, canasta being her favorite. At 104 years of age, Audrey still played a daily game of cards with her family, which kept her mind active as well as helped with her arthritic hands. Audrey was passionate about reading and, since the opening of the Rivers Library, had read over 1000 books. Audrey was guided by her faith, having attended St. James Anglican Church since 1952. She spent many years teaching Sunday School. Audrey recited all of the names of her family members nightly and said a prayer for each one of them. This was her God time and her way of remembering the names of each family member. Audrey was a true Christian, always remaining humble, gracious and kind.

A Celebration of life was held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Brockie Donovan Chapel with lifelong friends, Rev. Alvin Jacobs and Pastor Warren Smallwood officiating.  Interment took place at Rivers Cemetery.

Donations may be made to: Brandon Humane Society, Prairie Crocus Regional Library (Rivers, MB) and GAP outreach Brandon MB.

Rest in Peace special lady ..... until we meet again.  Safe in the arms of Jesus.
