Obituary of Blaine Waldie

Blaine Edmund Waldie of Brandon, Manitoba passed away suddenly on September 2, 2024 in his home with his beloved dogs by his side, at the age of 65 years.

Blaine was born in Brandon, Manitoba to parents Mavis Bothun and Edmund Koenig on June 2, 1959 and was raised by his adoptive father David John Waldie.

He began his career as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in 1984. He made many friendships and helped many people throughout is 32 years of service, retiring in January 2016. For Blaine’s second career, he became a part time childcare provider for his two grandchildren Ella and Max. This was a job he cherished and brought him great joy. 

Blaine is survived by his beloved dogs Winchester and Remington, children Tara Waldie (Tyler), David Waldie, Krista Neufeld (Matthew), and grandchildren Ella and Max, He is also survived by his mother Mavis (Waldie) Pangman, sister Shelly Gurr (Oral) and numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

As per Blaine’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Blaine's memory may be made to an animal rescue of your choice, or simply provide a random act of kindness to pay it forward in memory of Blaine's kind nature.

In honour of Blaine there will be a come and go celebration of life on September 13, 2024 at the Eagle's Nest, 3500 McDonald Ave, Brandon, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
