Obituary of Anna Kirkpatrick

Anna Kirkpatrick passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, at age 78 on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Anna is survived by her husband, Norman Kirkpatrick of Brandon; her two children, Karl (Katie) Rudlowski (children Nickolas and Emma) of Red Deer, Alberta and Eva (Derek) Mackenzie (son Cole) of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Anatol Klementjew and sister, Regina Osuch of Poland. She was predeceased by parents, Jerzy and Nadzieja Klementjew and sisters, Zofia and Helen of Poland. Anna was born in Hrubieszow, Poland where she was a teacher before moving to Canada.  She embraced the life as a wife of a farmer as she loved the Canadian prairies. Yet her love of her grandchildren was unsurpassed. Ann was an adventurer, an avid reader, a poet, a writer, an amazing cook and a bingo goer. She was loved very much and will be missed. A graveside service was held at the Alexander Cemetery on Friday, September 6, 2024.

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,

There is a rapture on the lonely shore,

There is society, where none intrudes,

By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:

I love not Man the less, but Nature more,

From these our interviews, in which I steal

From all I may be, or have been before,

To mingle with the Universe, and feel

What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal

-Lord Byron, Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage
