Dorothy Clark

 November 2, 1923- August 31, 2024

Dorothy Mary (Macdonald) Clark passed away with family by her side on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the age of 100 years. Dorothy was born in Battleford, SK on November 2, 1923. She spent her early years growing up in Shellbrook, SK as her father worked for the railroad. From there they moved to a farm in the Livelong, SK area after her father lost his sight. She attended school with her siblings, and graduated grade 12. Dorothy had always wanted to become a nurse, but the war had begun so she was unable to fulfill that dream.

Throughout his career they lived in Saskatoon, Portage and finally in Brandon. Together, Dorothy and Donald had four children; Erla, Doreen, Janice and Del. They lived in Brandon in a house in which they built together. In 1968 Dorothy became a member of the C.N.I.B. She was a great ambassador for them. Dorothy went into the schools, introducing her guide dogs, Dreyfus and Alpha, teaching children an approach on being blind. Dorothy and Donald fostered children, touching many lives. Dorothy loved embroidery, reading, knitting, gardening, The Brandon Wheat Kings and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Dorothy was predeceased by Donald in 2013.  She is survived by her children; Erla Buchanan (David), Doreen Dietrich (Ronald), Janice Lindsay (Dr. Gary Lindsay-deceased) and Del Clark (Bev Proctor); ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; brother Clayton; sister Kay (Ray);sisters in law Ruth and Betty as well as extended family.
