April 17, 1944 to January 3, 2024

Mary Wright passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the age of 79 years.  Mary was born in the RM of Daly, MB on April 17, 1944 to Cliburn and Hazel Airey. Mary and Roy Wright were married on June 9, 1962 and together they had four children; Sheldon, Tammy, Wanda and April. In addition to raising her own children, Mary was a caring foster parent and Mental Health Care provider for many years.  Mary also obtained her Red Seal cooking certificate and was an accomplished cook. She loved cooking for family, friends and anyone she could. She also enjoyed attending yard sales and her adventures travelling with Roy. In addition to all this, she was known for her skills with needle point. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roy; children Sheldon Wright (Jacquie) and Tammy (Mark) Burgess; grandchildren Michael (Cynthia) Sanderson, Selena and Chelsey Wright, Taylor Burgess, Matthew Burgess, Ashley (Jamie) Browning, Nicole Ullberg (Jorg), Evan Ullberg, Katelynn (Jessie), Courtney, Trenton and Brookelynn Stonehouse; great grandchildren Reece, Peyton, Hudson and Weston Sanderson; Faith and Jude Browning; and Noah Ullberg. Also surviving is brother Harry (Joan) Airey, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Mary was predeceased by her daughters Wanda (Sheldon) Ullberg, April (Ryan) Stonehouse, infant grandchild Daryan, and sister Joan (John) Sutherland. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date. A very special thanks to all who cared for Mary, Mum, Gramma, and Great Gramma. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to the BRHC Foundation, (Western Manitoba Cancer Centre), 150 McTavish Ave E, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.
