Obituary of Keith Lukiw
Keith Dale Lukiw
1952-2023
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Keith Dale Lukiw announce his passing on August 8, 2023 at the age of 70.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda; daughters, Jennifer and Tiffanie Derlago (Jeff) and grandchildren Jaxon and Jacelyn Derlago. He is also lovingly remembered by siblings, Brian (Mary) and Sharon Prost (David). Keith is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Shirley Lukiw and in-laws, Barney and Rose Lernowicz.
Keith was born on September 24, 1952 in the Glenboro Hospital. He spent his young life in Belmont, Manitoba before the family relocated to Brandon. After graduating from Neelin High School, Keith attended Brandon University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. After university, Keith tried a few different jobs before joining the great team at Canada Post where he remained until retiring in 2011.
Keith appreciated most sports, but his passion was golf, which he enjoyed on and off the course. One of Keith’s favourite pastimes was hanging out with his beloved Grandchildren and Grand-pets! You could often find Keith at the hockey rink with his grandson Jaxon or exploring the outdoors with his granddaughter Jacelyn. Keith also loved spending time with his friends, especially over a Tim Horton’s Coffee.
Keith was a loving family man and a great friend. His sense of humour made him an entertaining, and somewhat chaotic, addition to any event and allowed him to form connections with everyone he met.
Keith never gave up during his battle with cancer. His strong will, love of life and sense of humour were apparent until the end. Keith was an inspiration to all of us who shared his journey.
A private family service will be held in September. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation (Westman Cancer Centre or Palliative Care), 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.
