Obituary of Tannis Hay
Tannis Lynn Hay
October 7, 1975 – July 4, 2023
Tannis Hay passed away peacefully with family able to say their goodbyes at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday July 4, 2023.
Tannis was born in Brandon, MB on October 7, 1975. Her family moved for a brief period to Thompson before ultimately returning and settling in Brandon, MB. She attended school at Meadows elementary school and Earl Oxford junior high before continuing her education at Crocus Plains High School. Her high school years were filled with horse shows, high school rodeos and lots of very close friends and family.
She found her calling when she started working for the Brandon School Division as an educational assistant ultimately settling into her role of home school liaison/BSSIP coordinator at Valleyview School. She poured her heart and soul into her students past and present and used her many family connections to bring traditions into the modern world. Her family and students meant everything to Tannis.
Tannis met the love of her life Bryan at the MRCA rodeo social in 1997 and they married on October 13, 2001. They were blessed to raise 2 kids; Rhett (2004) and Austin (2006).
Tannis is predeceased by her grandparents Andrew and Esther Dionne (Besant), Alvin and Audrey Templeton (Warner), Ken and Ardeth Moore (Templeton), cousin Tammy Zander (Moore), Uncle Doug Templeton, Aunt Leora (Templeton), and many others. Surviving Tannis are her husband Bryan, son Rhett and daughter Austin, parents Ray and Louise Templeton (Dionne), sister Candis (Templeton) and Nolan Blain and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre for the care and compassion they demonstrated during Tannis’ brief stay.
A celebration of life in honor of Tannis will be held in the Imperial Ball Room of the Victoria Inn, 3550 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB, on July 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Students past and present are welcome to attend.
