Obituary of Norman Glen Munroe

July 26, 1952 - July 4, 2023

MUNROE: Norm Munroe, age 70, passed away on July 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sharon, children Leif (Richard) and Cameron (Kim), and grandchildren Lily, Luna, and Andrew. Norman is also survived by his mother Ina Munroe and his brothers Brian (Lynn) and Brent (Maureen)  Munroe.

Norman's adventurous spirit led him on many remarkable journeys throughout his life. In the 1970s, he embraced the wild beauty of the Yukon, where he resided for nearly a decade. The breathtaking landscapes and rugged wilderness shaped his character and instilled in him a deep appreciation for the power of nature.

Among his many passions, Norman had a profound love for gardening. He found solace and joy in tending to the plants and creating beautiful landscapes. Music also held a special place in Norm's heart. When sharing favorite songs with loved ones, he found immense happiness in the power of music to uplift and connect people.

A lifelong learner, Norm earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and philosophy in the early 1980s. His analytical mind and philosophical outlook served to enrich his perspectives on life. Norm had an insatiable curiosity and a genuine desire to share knowledge with others. He would eagerly introduce friends and family to fascinating ideas and engage in stimulating conversations. His intellectual curiosity was contagious, and he fostered an environment of learning and growth.

Norman Munroe leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and intellectual curiosity.

A celebration of Norm's life will be held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Home, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Rosewood memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba.
