Lorna Dorothy Aimoe passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023 at the Assiniboine Centre surrounded by her loving family.  Lorna was born and raised in Winnipeg where she met and married the love of her life, Barry Aimoe.  She is survived by their seven children, Veronica Marr, Randy Aimoe (Annie), Theresa Jobse, Jocelyn Aimoe-Williamson (Stan), Lawrence Aimoe (Melissa), Ramona Stanton (Grant), Peter Aimoe (Sandy), seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Barry Aimoe and her son-in-law, Alfred Jobse.

In 1952, Lorna moved to Creighton, SK with her husband and 6 month old daughter, where she lived for the next 16 years and had the rest of their family. In 1968, she and her family moved to Brandon where they remained.

Lorna was a stay-at-home Mom while her children were young, a Brownie leader, and a second mother to many of the neighborhood kids. Upon returning to the work force she became a receptionist and den mother at the Brandon Nurse’s Residence, returned to school to upgrade her secretarial and computer skills, worked as an executive assistant to MLA Len Evans for many years, then was employed by Manitoba Lotteries where she remained until retirement.

She was an active member of St Augustine’s Catholic Church and the CWL.

Lorna enjoyed many trips and adventures with her husband, and after his passing she enjoyed many more with her children.  In 2017, she moved to Victoria Landing until her passing.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and aides during her stay at the hospital and a very special thank you to her doctor, Dr. Tyler Tegg, for his care and compassion.
