Obituary of Lois Wolfe

WOLFE: Lois Isabel Wolfe passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, May 15, 2023.  Lois was born to Colin and Grace Rawcliffe on October 30, 1929, at her Grandma and Grandpa McLeod’s home in Estevan, SK.  Lois attended schools in Deloraine, Virden, Goodlands and Antler, SK after which she graduated from the Misericordia General Hospital School of Nursing with her R.N. degree in 1950.  Lois and Glen were married in 1951 in Winnipeg.  Colin was born in 1958 and the family moved to Brandon in 1960 where Wendy (1963) and Ian (1965) were born.

Mom was an inspiration to us all.  She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed being physically fit and active. She started young, biking with her Mom on country roads.  As her own children grew, running became a passion that she shared with friends Julie and Helmi. 

Always enjoying being outside, walking was her lifestyle.  Besides her city walks, Mom and her friend Carolyn enjoyed legendary 30-mile Sunday hikes, and later hiking adventures with her daughter on trails all over Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  Mom was vibrant, loving, strong and supportive with a great sense of humor and quick with a smile.

Lois is survived by her children: Colin (Kenetta), Wendy and Ian (Lynn); grandchildren: Wade, Nikki (Lance) and Emily (Nicholas) and great-grandchildren, Alex and Jayla.

At Lois’s request cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.
