Obituary of Frances Taylor

TAYLOR: Peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023, and surrounded by family we sadly announce the passing of Frances Mary Taylor.

Frances Mary Wilson was born in Virden on July 21, 1938, the youngest child of Howard and Elsie Wilson. She grew up on the farm at Woodnorth with her sister Charlotte and brother Ivan. She attended Woodnorth School to Grade 11, and Grade 12 in Virden. She went to teacher training at Brandon University. Miss Wilson taught Grade 1 at Mary Montgomery School in Virden for 4 years. She met Fred Taylor and they were married on December 17, 1960 and lived on the farm at Oak Lake. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables, and was a Director of the Horticultural Section of the Oak Lake Fair for many years.  Fran enjoyed curling and bowling.

She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Elsie Wilson, sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Wallace Gabrielle and brother Ivan Wilson.

She is survived by husband Fred, daughter Carla and son Stan, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Oak Lake United Church, 47 2nd Ave. W., Oak Lake, MB, R0M 1P0 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2T5 or to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oak Lake United Church, Oak Lake, MB, on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
