Randy O'Neil

Obituary of Randy O'Neil

Randy Blair O’Neil passed at the age of 55 in Brandon, MB to the heartbreak of many and with his immediate family by his side.  He was surrounded by the love of his wife, children and granddaughter and he remained strong in passing just as he was in life.

Missing him while he’s gone ahead are the love of his life Andrea Bailey, beloved daughter Sophia Thompson & Avery Hodgins, the apple of his eye granddaughter Violet, his pride and joy his son Randy O’Neil Jr. & Avishka Weerakoon, and cherished step-daughter Chase Bailey.  His former spouse and mother of his children, Deborah Thompson, also mourns his passing.

Born and raised in Perth, ON, he was the youngest of 11 children and leaves many family members missing his love and laughter.  He was predeceased by father Willis O’Neil, beautiful mother Anne O’Neil, and brother James O’Neil.  Randy will be dearly missed by siblings Sharon & Jeff Coreau, Terrance & Maureen O’Neil, Deborah & Doug Dinsdale, Keith & Lynn O’Neil, Erin & Paul Borthwick, Kevin O’Neil & Lisa Kleisinger, Michael O’Neil, Colleen & Brian Hamilton, and Stephen & Sue O’Neil. Nieices and nephews Mitchell, Tiffany, Shelley, Jared, Jeff, Shane, Kaylin, Ryan, Stacey, Lee, Maggie, Ann, Hunter, Dana, Tara, Tyler, and Billy Jo will be missing him as well as will his many great nieces and great nephews.  Randy also has the love of Billy Roberts with him as they were lifelong best friends and will never truly be apart.

Randy was an extremely talented Arborist and strong leader in the Utility Line Clearing industry for over 35 years. Throughout his life he lived and worked in Ontario, BC and Manitoba and worked across Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon as well.  He cared for many great friends across the country and enjoyed his work with HD Tree Service, Hydro One, Westman Tree Service, Davey Tree, VI Tree, his own company All Tree Care, and most recently with Wright Tree Service.  He also enjoyed his time as a Long Haul Truck Driver with Arnold Brothers Transport taking loads between Manitoba through the BC Rockies and lighting up people’s lives along the way.

Randy loved life and those who were lucky enough to know him laughed and loved life with him.  His strength was immense both in stature and character and he was a positive force in many people’s lives.  That he was a leader was clear to anybody who met him and to all who knew him it was clear he had a heart of gold.  He remains the heart and protector of those he loved and lives on in us.  Godspeed Randy, you are in our hearts and you have our love with you.
