Thidrick "Ralph" Jonasson
1945 - 2022
The family sadly announce the passing of our beloved husband, Dad and Afi, Great Afi, Brother-in-law, Uncle and Friend at Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba on Friday November 25, 2022. He was 77 years young.
Ralph was born in Winnipeg on March 16, 1945 and was raised on a farm in Big Point District. He went to a one room school, Big Point School for Grades 1 to 8 and for Grades 9 -12 he went to Langruth High School. He married Margaret (Soos) on December 29, 1962 and they were one month shy of celebrating 60 years together.
Ralph took his teacher’s training “Normal” School in Winnipeg, along with his Bachelors of Education and Science. He taught at various schools in Winnipeg and within the Pine Creek School Division until the fall of 1969 when he started at MacGregor Collegiate as a Science teacher. He was involved in the sports at the schools along with his children’s sport’s teams. He enjoyed the time spent helping out in a variety of roles in MacGregor from beekeeping in the summers, teaching driver`s ed, to being an attendant on the ambulance and volunteering with seniors groups.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Margaret and his children, Lawrence, Ryan (Mary), Jennifer, and their families. His family was most important to him. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Ralph will be missed by all whose paths he crossed with memories that live on forever in their hearts.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Personal Care Home for the kindness and compassion they showed Dad over the past 4 years.
The family will celebrate Ralph's memory in private.
