Obituary of Esther Pompana
POMPANA: Esther Irene.
With heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of life partner to Doug Brown; mother to Yvonne, Bobbi, Laurie, Rodney, Charlie (Susan) and Ellie; grandmother (15), great-grandmother (20) and friend, Esther Pompana.
Esther was born on January 28, 1934 on the White Bear First Nation in Saskatchewan. She attended the Residential School in Brandon until she graduated then lived in Rivers for 70 years.
Esther is predeceased by her parents, Mary Smoker and Joseph Metasapo; sister, Emma and husband, Roderick Pompana; daughter, Cindy and sister-in-law/best friend, Muriel Banhegy.
A time of visitation will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A family graveside service will be held at the Rivers Cemetery on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Esther’s Life will follow at the Rivers Legion, all are welcome to attend.
