MCINNES: Noreen Agnes McInnes passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the age of 96. Noreen was born in Neepawa, MB, on October 11, 1925, to Norman and Jemima Rikley, the youngest of four girls; Evelyn, Edna, Kay.

Noreen grew up in Neepawa attending school and once finished began working at the Neepawa airport as well as a telephone operator.

Noreen met the love of her life, Donald in 1940 and were wed on October 9, 1943. They moved to Brandon, MB in the mid 1940’s which they would call home for the next 22 years. Noreen and Donald started their family shortly after which was the joy of her life, raising her nine children.

Mom was very proud of the five generations of her family which she loved immensely and valued the time spent with all of them. Her smile shone bright whenever her family was around.  These generations consisted of nine children, twenty five grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Mom had a heart of gold and welcomed everyone into her family with open arms.

Much time was spent throughout the years camping, fishing boating and four wheeling through the country side. Mom loved travelling the country visiting her family and enjoying all of these activities. You could always find mom in the middle of cooking for her large family.

Mom always found time to volunteer with her church. In her later years she spent countless hours knitting and crocheting for her family as well as others in need.

Noreen will be deeply missed by her children: Lynn (Richard), Barb (Wayne), Don, Dave (Susan), Jo (Guy), Shawn and Rick (Shauna). She was met at heavens gate by Donald her husband of 57 years, daughters Donna and Bonnie and grandson Conan.

The family would like to thank the Northern Lights Manor of Flin Flon, MB for their care and compassion.

A celebration of Noreen’s life will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Friday May 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northern Health Authority of MB in care of the Northern Lights Manor.

An Angel

An angel lived among us,

A gift from God above.

She showered us with kindness

And shared with us her love.

She cherished every moment

With the man who was her life;

Walking hand in hand together,

Facing life with all its strife.

She loved her children dearly,

Each one a different way,

Nestled close within her heart.

Though, now, she’s far away.

She’s gone to live with Jesus.

But, she’s here with us, today,

Smiling down on every one of us,

And telling us she’s O.K.
