Obituary of Walter Stewart

STEWART: With his family at his side, on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Walter Bryant Stewart peacefully passed away at the age of 93 years. Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edna; son, David and son-in-law, Bob Richards. Left to mourn and treasure his memory are twin daughter, Kathleen (Ron) Collins, Sean (Leone) and their children, Aislin and Lachlan and Sheena (Clint); twin daughter, Christine Richards, Ian and Kathleen; daughter, Margaret Lynn (Brent) Richards, Alexandra (Justin) and Shelae. Walter was born in Winnipeg and raised on the family farm at Oakville Manitoba and received his education at Beautiful Valley and Oakville schools.  He married Edna Irvine on November 24, 1951 and they farmed the Stewart family farm before moving to Portage la Prairie, where he was employed by the Portage la Prairie School Division.  Walter relocated to Brandon in 2019 to be closer to family.  Walter was devoted to his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by each member of this close-knit family. In accordance with Walter’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
