ROULETTE: It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunty, and Friend who passed on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Brandon Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit at the age of 69 years.
Mary Olga was born April 20, 1952 in Sandy Bay First Nation to Emile and Flora Beaulieu. She lived in Plumas, Manitoba as a child with her siblings: Irene, Alvina, Stanley, Kenneth, Robert, Walter and Susan. She married at the age of 17 to Cecil Claude Roulette on March 8, 1968; they had five children Cecil, Lloyd, Eleanor, Flora and Colin. They lived the majority of their lives together in Neepawa, Manitoba where Olga went back to school to obtain her grade 12, working in retail for a few years, returning to school again to become a health care aide, she worked for 25 years at the Minnedosa Care Home and then finished out her care in Brandon at Fairview Personal Care Home. In her free time, she loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed painting, knitting, bingo, playing games, puzzles, crosswords, reading, listening to old country tunes, and traveling. In her travels she went to Nashville and Vegas with her sister Alvina.
She was diagnosed with terminal cancer on March 8, 2021 and provided with a time line but she was determined to continue to fight the battle in hopes of winning. She tried various methods, western and traditional, during this time. Her son Lloyd and daughter-in-law Kathy decided that they would care for Mom and provided her with the best care possible. The siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be forever grateful to have to opportunity and time to spend with her, do the things she enjoyed and wanted to do.
She loved all her children very much, her humour, love of life, travel, hard work, and strength will live on in all of them. She will be deeply missed by her family and dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel on Friday, September 23, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
