Dear Dorthy, Barb, David and families,
My sympathy to you all, I know Al will be truely missed. As we age, family and friends are so special in our lives, and from my younger years, I spent much time with the Scott family and what a big hole in my heart they have left, Al and Dorthy being part of that.
Bill used to introduce me as their adopted daughter, growing up on the next block, so when the Smith’s visited, I was often part of
the festivities. Oh, what special times they had, Dorthy playing her harmonica and guitar, enjoying music so much. They so enjoyed their travels, camping, having lots of stories, and laughs. Al was a true gentleman and scholar, keeping his mind active, and so dedicated to Dorthy, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Much love, Margaret Forsyth

My amazing Uncle Allan, I will miss you forever! How my mom loved her brother, always a gleam in her eyes when she talked about you. You researched and provided our Smith side of the family, with your information going all the way back to 1545. It was not an easy task but you gave it your all. We now have personal family information along with pictures to pass on to our children and grandchildren. Because of your hard and diligent work, I now know my grandfather (your father) came on a boat from England at the age of 19. You even found a copy of his boat ticket! So much work right up until you were 96, we are forever grateful to you. Aunt Dorothy, I know this is hard for you, my heart is with you daily. Hold all your memories that will sometimes bring you tears today and the coming days and weeks. They will on some days bring a smile to your face and laughter (which you love to do) to your heart. There are no time lines on your grief, do it at your pace, 1 day 1 hour 1 minute, 1 second and most of all 1 tear at a time. Love you much! Barb, Dave and families, my heart is with all of you as well. I know this is not an easy time, we were so blessed to have him for so long, he always blessing our family times! We were taught to love each other, how lucky are we! No words can reach into the depth of sorrow that goes into bereavement. We will have to do what he would want, be kind, smile, open our eyes & hearts, live and go on. Love you all. Wendy Allan and Family xo
