To John, Dave and Paul and your devoted families, our thoughts are with you during this sad time. Your Mom was so special to so many of us. As members of the City Clerk’s Department, we had the honour and privilege to have gotten to know your Mom. She was warm, friendly and treated us and we sure others like family. She liked to laugh even if it was at herself and always witty. She will remain in all our hearts.

Don and I have very fond memories of your mom from our Winter Fair days whilst she and your dad represented the city in such a honourable way. She was always a delight to visit and chat with.
And of course, she was a dear friend to my mom at Lions Manor. My mom thought so highly of her and appreciated their time together. I too loved running into her at the Manor and catching up. She was always on the go!
Her presence in your family will be dearly missed. We are sorry for your loss.

My heartfelt condolences to all of Jean's Family & Friends. I got to know both your parents & grandparents, through my mother, Stella Kukurudz, whom shared such a reciprocal genuine connection. It was pure joy to connect with your Mom/Grandmother, Jean. She was so genuinely interested in how one was plus recall what was happening within your life. She had this uncanny ability to connect with people. Wow, and I just loved how her eyes and smile would light up. Never too busy to stop, even if for a short while. A very beautiful Soul, that graced our lives. Definitely someone I will miss "running into". Dear John, David, Paul, and your families.
I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with Jean and your family.
Jean was a true and loyal friend, always willing to listen when
I needed advice; when sharing her boys with me when you needed a
sitter; checking up on Mom when they were together at Lions
Manor; and always calling to see how things were with myslef, friends
and neighbors. We shared many cups of tea, and long telephone
conversations.
I am so sorry for your loss, and send sincere wishes that the many family memories
you have will hold her in your hearts forever.

My heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mom. She was a warm & wonderful lady. My first recollection of her was as a student at a Minnedosa school where she was the visiting school nurse. Many years later our paths crossed again when your dad was running for mayor & I was a volunteer with his campaign. Over the following years we shared lunches, birthday cards & many laughs. Although we hadn't been in touch recently, I will always cherish our times together. May it bring comfort that so many people share in your loss.

To the “Burgess Boys" and their families.....
Having lived on 3rd street and raised our children in that neighbourhood, we were frequent visitors to the store on 6th street, getting to know the Burgesses and their family members.
During my career in the Brandon media, I got to know Ken in his capacity as Mayor and through him, got to know Jean at various civic functions. Both of them were always friendly and welcoming.
The last time I saw Jean was at Lions Manor where the Celtic group I play with was entertaining. We hadn’t seen one another for quite some time and had a chance for a small visit. As community members, Ken and Jean set a great example for, not only their family, but for others too! Joyce and I offer our sincerely sympathy for your loss.

I often was able to have a quick chat with this wonderful, special lady when I delivered Meals on Wheels to her in Lions Manor. Always so gracious and grateful for those volunteers, and that was an example she set for her sons and family. She had a life well lived!
