I knew Jeanette for many years and enjoyed the company of this sweet lady. We enjoyed reminiscing about Albert whom I treated as a physio and found him so entertaining.

I am immeasurably grateful for the life and legacy of my dear friend, Jeannette. We sang in the Central United Church Choir together for many years. What followed after this angel strolled into my life was the blessing of 20 years of friendship, lunch dates, tea dates, Evans Theatre movie dates, community musical theatre dates, laughs, visits, and hugs - all while basking in the glow of this incredible woman. She was sweetness, kindness, goodness, and light, all rolled into one and I miss her dearly. One of innumerable wonderful memories is when she enlisted Carolyn Gwyer, Sharon Rogers, Deanna Ginn and I to prepare a set of Andrews Sisters tunes for the final Manitoba War Brides Association Reunion in 2006. I have a treasured picture of her beaming with pride as we sang. It is a great reminder to me of her constant joy, which is exactly what she was to me. ♥

I met Jeannette as a member of Central United Church choir. I was only 14 but for the next six years had the pleasure of singing next to her. She was so kind, fun and willing to show me the ropes. When I moved away she kept in touch with some lovely letters and cards. I wish that I had asked her more about her early years, she sounds like she had a remarkable life. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

My Mom and I met Jeannette and her son on the War Bride Train to Pier 21. Like most of the War Brides, they had landed all over Canada but shared so many similarities. Jeannette was a stylish, sweet-natured woman just like my Mom. When I visited my family in Brandon, I would always look her up. I brought my young grandsons down to meet her at her house and they were delighted to be offered pocketfuls of sweets and be treated to an ice cream at the nearby cafe. I hope the many many wonderful stories and memories of Jeannette comfort her family.

When I think of Jeanette I will always remember grace, wit and compassion. What a great lady and when I was at Seniors for Seniors she was always the highlight of my day. My thoughts are with the family and thank you for allowing me to know your Mom. It was a great pleasure of my life
