Sincere condolences are sent to Betty's family from the Matheson clan in Brandon. Betty was a dear friend of our parents Alex and Peggy and as such, we children of them, got to know Betty as well. Betty was a wonderful friend and engaged community member in Brandon. She seemed to know so many people in the city. She was active in her church (St. Matthews), in volunteer activities, enjoyed learning new things, like calligraphy and was very proud of the military. She had a grand sense of style and a welcoming personality. There were many lively dinner parties that were always filled with laughter...such a fun group of friends.
We hope all the very special memories you hold of Betty help to sustain you on your difficult days. I'm sure there is a raucous cocktail party happening in heaven.
Sincerely, Peggy, Gord & Marie Matheson and family.

Penny and I had the pleasure of meeting Betty and Jack in Shilo in 1984. We were honoured to call her a friend ever since and sent her our yearly Christmas greetings. She was a pillar of every community she lived in. Stand Easy!

I enjoyed a friendship with Betty for many years. It started with the Calligraphy Club, our paths crossed when the HMCS Brandon was new and, after I retired, with the Hospital Auxiliary. I loved her sense of style, her artistic ability and her outlook on life. Keep your memories close. She was a gem.

Bob, Susan, and families
I was saddened to learn of the passing of your mother and grandmother. She was a dear friend in Brandon and I was looking forward to reconnecting when she moved out here. Sadly that never happened be4cause of our respective schedules. She was a wonderful woman, whom I greatly admired, and was always quick to provide an update on her family. My sincere condolences to all and may the passing of time ease the pain of her loss.

I am deeply saddened by the loss that you and your family have encountered. My condolences. I remember my time I spent with Betty when I was in Brandon. We met at an event on the Military and we became friends from that point on. I ended up being her Personal Chef, lol well that is how she introduced me to her friends when she asked me to help her entertain people. I did a many of her private functions. I really enjoyed my time with Betty. I will truly miss her. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.Terry

My sympathies to all family. Mrs. Coleman was part of my St. Matthew's life when I was growing up and I remember her fondly for her no nonsense just get the job done attitude. Susan and I crossed paths again at Bethania Nursing Home in the early seventies where she was nursing and I was the visiting O.T. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Kathleen (Ryles) Malin
