Ms. Kolesar was my Grade 5 teacher at Alexander; she was firm, warm-hearted, and kind. My clearest recollection of her; on Dec 21, 1954 when, as I was climbing the stairs to our room, she said, "I heard on CKX that you have a new brother. How wonderful!" It was, indeed. Now retired after +37 years in academia, I recall how I often thought of her as a wonderful model for the "teaching life".

When I think of my years in school the first teacher that always comes to mind is Mrs.Pavlin. Not only a great teacher but a great neighbor as well.

I was so very saddened to hear of the news of Mrs. Pavlin's passing.
She was a favourite teacher of mine in Green Acres and was one of those teachers who were firm, but very fair and kind. I just loved her classes as a child and learned so much from her.
Throughout the years, all of my family have bumped into her, and she always had a genuine interest in our life paths, never hesitating to congratulate us on our achievements.
She was such a good person and I will never forget her.
May God Bless her.
Rest in Peace, Mrs. Pavlin

To Velma's family: I will always treasure the fond memories of travelling with Velma in the same group in Australia and in China. And we continued our friendship upon returned home. Such a kind lady. Such a talented lady with her paintings. She will be missed but will not be forgotten. May God bless her !

Anyone living in Brandon born in the 50's onward knows of Mrs. Pavlin. She was the best teacher in Brandon, but the strictest. I had the ultimate priviledge of knowing her. I have never forgot her and when I saw her around town she still called me by name. She was a true teacher, friend and taught us all how to act as ladies and gentlemen. The Lord has called home a truly beautiful soul. So sad for those of us left and so wonderful for Mrs. Pavlin.
