Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Louise Roberts

ROBERTS: Margaret Elizabeth Louise Roberts (née Cobb) died peacefully at the Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB. on December 21, 2012. Margaret was born on October 16, 1929 in Netherhill, SK. At the age of eleven she attended the Qu'Appelle Diocesan School (QDS) in Regina, followed by nurses training at the Regina General Hospital. It was in Regina that Margaret met and married Denis Roberts, a young Anglican minister, on August 20, 1952. Through the years they lived and served in many parishes across the prairies: Medicine Hat, Kenaston, Neepawa, The Pas, Killarney, Dauphin, and Rivers. Margaret nursed and with Denis raised five children. Margaret is predeceased by son Michael and husband Denis. She is survived by her brother Herb, her five children David (Elizabeth), Edwin (Joy), Kathryn (Jerry), Kenneth (Gwen), and Ronald (Jenny), fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Rivers, MB. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 with The Very Rev. Jim Njegovan officiating. Interment will follow at the Rivers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Canadian National Institute of the Blind (CNIB), 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3M3.
