It was with sadness today that I read of the passing of Sy. Although it has been many years since I had contact with him, it was he that got me interested in the radio hobby when he taught us air cadets back in the early 1970's. I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the radio hobby that Sy introduced to me back in 1972. Thanks Sy, my life would not be the same without radio. RIP

Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing of Sy. I have been his foot care provider since Oct 2007. He spoke highly of his wife whom he missed. He was very proud of you- his sons and your accomplishments. May you have fond memories.

Dear Rod,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of your father. Even though I only met your dad ( my Uncle Sy) a few times, I remember him quite vividly as a quiet spoken but kind hearted man. He kept in touch with our family through the years and I always looked forward to the annual Christmas card. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Rod: I was saddened to hear of the loss of your Dad! I often think about the times when we lived across the street in our growing up years. Many hours spent in the back yard with your Dad helping us build those infamous go-carts that we raced down Russell Street hill.
I have fond memories of those times and will cherish them as I hope they will also help you get through this difficult time. Colleen

David & Rod,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of the loss of your Dad. During my last visit with him just before his birthday on the 21st, we enjoyed, as usual a great and varied conversation ranging from activities of his youth, memories from the Princess Ave. E. neighbourhood, the poor crop of tulips we both had this year to of course his dismay at no longer being able to walk and be at home, although there was acceptance of the situation.
Sy has always been a part of my world just as your Mom was as they moved into the neighbourhood the year I was born. I will miss his quick wit, sharp memory, wonderful stories about his childhood and youth growing up in Brandon and above all his friendship.
Sorry I can't be at the funeral, but please know that thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Barb
