Obituary of Hilda Maud Grigg

GRIGG: Hilda Maud (née Hale) Grigg passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Valleyview Care Centre. Hilda was born in the Souris District to Henry and Ellen Hale on April 4, 1920; their first born. She grew up in Souris and attended school there until grade seven, then had to stay home and help with the younger children. She met Wallace (Wally) Grigg and they were married in 1939. Wally went overseas shortly there after. Over the next twenty years they were blessed with six children: Joan, Mona, Garry, Heather, Denise and Lance. Hilda was predeceased by husband Wally, son Lance, son-in-law Wayne Boles, son-in-law Duane Carter-Squire, brothers, Harold, Lorry and Gordon. Hilda is survived by and leaves to mourn her passing, daughters Joan, Mona, Heather (Wayne La Fournie), Denise (Craig Freeman) and son Garry (Pat); also nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters Pearl and Dorothy and two brothers Bill and Walter. A private graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery with Mona Franklin officiating.
