Obituary of Jessie May Johnston

JOHNSTON: Jessie May Johnston of Brandon, passed away at her residence Fairview Home on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Jessie was the daughter of the late Joseph and May Fletcher. Mom was born October 29, 1914 in the county of Bradford, sub district of Horton and raised in the small community of Otley, England. Immigrating to Canada shortly after WWII, Jessie found employment at the Brandon General Hospital and through mutual friends found her life's soul mate of 59 years, Donald James Johnston. Predeceased by her husband Don, Jessie is survived by her son George (Susan), Lower Sackville, NS and daughter Diane (Peter) Boychuk, Elliot Lake, ON; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mom will be lovingly remembered for her determination to overcome life's hardships, her devotion to her family and her love for her husband Don. We love you Mom. Special thanks to Carol Vogt and her crew at Fairview – they all provided Mom with outstanding care. A time of visitation will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street on Friday, August 20, 2010 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Brandon Cemetery, section 53 (far east side of cemetery) on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
