July 10, 2010,
Dear Family of Mrs. Barnes,
I did not know until today of Eileen's passing. Had I known, I would have most assuredly been at her service.
Mrs. Barnes was my grade 6 teacher at Earl Oxford School in '64 or '65. She is the only teacher that I have very fond memories of. Somehow she had an insight into my troubled life at home and in her own unique way she showed me that someone did truly care about this lost little girl who had to survive rather than worry about homework and academic skills. She gave me a special recommend that year so I didn't have to write exams. I credit this woman for making me strong and I truly believe that because of her my life turned out so much better. I have worked with special needs students for 28 years now, and again, my memories often take me to her classroom as an inspiration.
Mrs. Barnes, you were a Godsent to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
With the greatest of respect..... Darlene

Helen and Family---So sorry for your loss.Find comfort in your memories and know she is now at rest. It was always a pleasure to be around Eileen-I will miss her beautiful smile. The verse you chose is the one Mom wrote in a note to us when she passed away--so nice. Sincerely Tanis
