I'm so sad right now after finding out Ron has passed away. Ron and Ellen were the best neighbors you could possibly have at our place at Sandy Lake! You knew he was there when his long tree pole with the Canadian flag attached was at the water front. Always helping you out, sitting on the beach and having a fire toasting wieners,or having watermelon on those hot afternoons,to contests of who could catch the first fish off the dock! The days of "oiling down the road", playing volleyball on the front grass,to using a harrow behind the boat to make our beach weed free as possible.My favourite memory was when we had all the weeds pulled from the water and Ron said "let's put it in the canoe and toe it to the other side of the lake. Well we made it half way and the canoe tipped upside down in front of the "elite" cabins as we called them and started drifting towards them.! Ron said " let's get the hell out here before they know what happened"!!!! Boy,.... we laughed that night at the bonfire and I will always remember that one!!! My deepest condolences to Ellen, June, Jill, Wayne, and Doug and families. Take care and Rest In Peace my friend Ron.(I know your with all the former neighbors from our end at Sandy Lake now,still helping out as usual having a good laugh!)
