Chris and Kim, I was saddened to learn today of your Dad's passing, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great fellow, and I always enjoyed his intellect and sense of humour when visiting at your parents' home and cottage. God bless him, and you.

The Martin family:
I worked with your father (in the office) at Burns from 1980-84... he was a great man
and a fun person to be around.
I am sure he will be missed by the family and all who knew him.
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the funeral, but our thoughts are with all of you.

My deepest sympathy to you. Although I am unable to attend my thoughts are with you,
Over the past 10 years Murray & I had spent more time together than we did growing up - the age difference of 10 years had a lot to do with this I think. There were lots of great conversations we had - I will miss him more than you know!

Kim, Chris, & family,
I was very sorry to read of your dad's passing. He was my dad's vet for MANY years, during which we accumulated a great many "Dr. Martin" stories. One of the favourites occurred while he was performing a C section on a sow in the wee hours of the morning in our barn. At the same time a first time mother was giving birth, was distraught, & eating her young. Your dad shouted, "Beer! Do you have beer?"
My dad, wondering if your dad was really THAT thirsty, replied that he probably had some in the house. The result was that pigs LOVE beer. Dad poured all his beer into the trough, the pig gulped it down, lay down in a drunken fog, & caused no more problems.
Your dad was a wonderful vet, who despite being very busy, took time to have coffee & form life long connections with his clients to become friends. He was a very special man.
Liane (Steven) Heinrichs
