SORRY TO HEAR OF RICHARD'S PASSING. HAVE HAD A FAMILY CONNECTION BACK WHEN MOM, SHIRLEY DILLEY, TAUGHT RICHARD MUSIC LESSONS. ONE OF HIS GREAT PLEASURES IN LIFE WAS PLAYING THE PIANO. I KNOW THAT HE REALLY MISSED THAT WHEN HE LOST HIS ABILITY TO PLAY. ALWAYS CHEERFUL EVEN THROUGH THE TRIALS OF HIS LOSS AND ILLNESS.
A GREAT UCT BROTHER, AND FRIEND.
DONALD DILLEY, UCT MEMBER AND FRIEND

We will miss Richard more than words can describe, his demeanor and just being around him gave me a feeling of calm and simply wanting to "catch up and talk" I very much enjoyed visiting with him and Karen, fabulous cook and great for a story or two... We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Karen, and the rest of the family, we've heard lots about, but never got to meet...

Sending our hearts to Karen and all the family. Richard will be missed in so many ways— such a sharp sense of humor, love and smile. His dedication to Evan Theatre, even his special filled eggs! Even the twinkle in his eyes when it came to The Sound of Music! Sincere condolences.

So very sorry to read of Richard's passing - my condolences to all of you. We first got to know the family when our kids played hockey together many years ago. I always enjoyed talking with Richard as we met through different activities, most recently UCT Bingo. He will be missed not only by his family but the multitude of people whose lives he touched over the years. Bernice Nerbas & family

The funeral is about to begin. Although I can't be there in person, I am with you all in heart and mind.
Richard was a man that touched many peoples lives, and stayed in my heart despite the miles and life circumstances. I have many fond memories of him, but I think the most classic is how he always told the girls to hug tighter! :upside_down_face:
Thoughts of Richard always left me with a daydream smile. What a life and what a guy!
Huge hugs to all the family.
Love Alanna Rohn(Honke)

I'm so saddened to hear of Richard's passing. My deepest sympathies go out to Karen, Robert, Ryan, Kelly and families. Richard and I go back to our high school days at Vincent Massey. We shared cinema classes at BU and regularly attended the annual film festival. It will be strange not seeing Richard at the Evans Theatre. Richard was always a solid, steady person; never bitter or angry and always eager to entertain and willing to regale us with a story or two. When Richard did open up about the burdens he carried and the hurt he felt he did so with an openness and honesty that lacked self-pity and was truly moving. Richard was a good friend. We were all better for knowing him. Richard, my wife Leslie and I want you to know you'll be thought of often and missed always.

To the Hunt family, we are very sorry to learn of Richard's passing. We only met briefly at Rob and Rosanne's wedding at which time we were impressed by his friendly manner. It was obvious that he was much loved by his family, which is the best legacy we can hope to leave. John and Gerry McPhee

Dearest Richard! You and Beth were my first friends when we moved to Brandon all those decades ago! 1975. You both welcomed me with open arms and your ginormous hearts. As we watched our magnificent children, grow, blossom and create memories together our lives began to take different paths. Regardless you always had a smile and a hug for me whenever we chanced to meet. Your hearts and the love you filled them with will continue to beat on in your children and grandchildren. Make music with your beloved Beth in the angels choir. You will be missed!
