Condolences to the Carroll family. Iris was a great lady and mentor to many. Her stamina was a beacon to many knowing that a person can do anything no matter the age. Dad (Art Diehl) always thought Iris was the best he admired her. Wish I could be there but unfortunately I have to work. Thoughts and prayers to your family. From Darlene Diehl and Nicole

From Scott Diehl (son of Fred Diehl, grandson of Jim and Irene Diehl)
My father Fred always had fond memories of Iris. They spent a childhood together at the farm on Cyprus River. Although they were cousins, because the two families lived so close they were like brothers and sisters. What a great upbringing they had on the farm, with so many adventures and stories.
Iris was always a sunny soul. And she always had a laugh and a kind thought at our Diehl family reunions in Manitoba. She was always eager to hug her relatives, and share a story with all of us.
The family of Jim and Irene are now scattered between Winnipeg, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Comox, and many other places. We offer our sincere condolences to those of you in attendance at her service. And we will always remember Iris in our heart.

A woman with a kind heart, I remember her sending sympathy cards whenever our family had a loss. She always thoughtfully clipped a copy of the obituary from the paper and sent it along with the card. She and my mother Hanna McCallum were some of the early glue of the Riverview Curling Club.......I can close my eyes and envision them planning the next banquet or examining a draw. Rest peacefully Iris your work is done. Noreen McCallum

As a fellow member of Riverview Curling Club, I will always remember Iris for her laugh. She always loved a good laugh rather from a joke or just a funny happening. She was part of the organizing committee for our 25th Anniversary and enjoyed every minute of a running gag that started at an early meeting right through to the night of the event. Even the though the gag was really at Iris' expense she enjoyed the laugh as much as anyone. A wonderful lady greatly missed at our club.

My sincere sympathies to Iris's family. I met Iris many years ago when she was a volunteer with Seniors for Seniors. I have such wonderful memories of her. She was the most vibrant senior lady I have ever met, we had a lot of fun. I can remember she learned to swim at age 71 and told us how she loved to go down the waterslide at the sportsplex. She was definitely one of my favourite role models. Bless your heart Iris, heaven has another sweet angel.
