Dear Tannis,
I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing, and that I couldn't attend the service. Darlene and I worked together for many years, and she had the perfect personality for a Student Services receptionist--students and their problems always came first for her, and her warmth and kindness made them feel that it was a safe and welcoming place to come.. I remember lots of students coming in regularly, just to say hello to her!
Cancer is such a cruel way to go, for the person who is sick and for the family. I know that the last few years will have been a difficult time for you. I hope that you can now relax and remember the good times with peace.
