I always enjoyed out little chats during my examination and appreciated her truly caring manner. She will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to all her family.

Dr Barb has cared for my eyes since I was 13 years old and the office was at Brandon Clinic. I remember being disappointed that I could not see her. She seemed to be on maternity leave fairly often. (Then I had to see Dr Don, just not the same.)
She has cared for my children's eyes and watched them grow as we connected through the Suzuki Talent Education Program.
I also was able to visit and connect with her through the Curves Gym talking about warmblood stabling in Saskatoon and little Bethany.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

She had all of those qualities and will make a fabulous angel watching over you all.

Your wife and mom, Barb was a beautiful person to all, a kind and gentle soul. We are so saddened for your loss. Over the years, our paths have crossed in many ways - the fastball diamond, Total Eye Care, the horse barns, our shared neighborhood and the many "waves" from our vehicles as one of us was transporting our kids to their after school activities - and with four very involved and talented girls no one was busier than Barb! Thinking of you all during this time.

Dear Barb,
You were a wonderful friend who always took time to talk and provided guidance and insight into the many varied topics we covered. I was so grateful to have a weekend with you in January before the cancer stole you. It must be hard for your family, for they can no longer hold your hand or hear your laughter and the sorrow they are feeling is simply not fair. I know you are now free from pain but that does not make it easier to accept you are gone. Look down from heaven and watch your children flourish with their own families and your granddaughter grow up, they will feel your love from afar. Don too will feel your love as he adapts to life on earth without your physical presence. Good bye dear friend, take care, I know you are near.

Bruce and I were saddened to hear of Barb's passing. I really enjoyed the many years of working for Barb in her Souris practice. She made all of us, patients and staff, feel important and our questions were never thought trivial. She had a true passion for her work and the people she looked after. May your memories sustain you at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I know how proud she was of all her children. A few years ago Dr. Bourassa brought her practice to Souris one day a week and made this so easy for our residents who required this service. Dr. Bourassa had a wonderful disposition and I enjoyed being her patient. She deserves her wings.

It was only 9 short years, but Barb and Don were wonderful neighbors. Our kids spend endless hours playing together. Michelle and Lauren were very close. Then there is the weddings of Hailey and Conrad, preformed by Melissa. How many times did these preschoolers get married. And of course, you hosted our farewell, which I (Stan) missed because I was working in Morris that day. Is there any wonder we drive three hours to get our eyes checked? It's worth the drive to see the very best.
All wonderful memories. Thank you for your friendship.

As I go for walks at Clear Lake I recall, and treasure all the walks Barb and I took together over the years. Barb would often walk her dog to our cottage and I would join her for a walk to the golf course. We would talk the entire time about anything and everything. She was always so very proud of her girls and all their accomplishments. I will miss her so much!
