Dear Len and family, We were very sorry to learn of Alice's passing. We very much enjoyed getting to know her better on your visits to the west coast. She was always warm and full of insight, with a delightful sense of humour. Charles and I are thinking of you.

Dear Len, Brenda, Janet, Randy and families. I always looked forward to a chat with Alice at the many NDP events we attended over the years. She was always so kind and interested in what I was doing, my family and our shared interest in politics. Her many health issues over the years didn't stop her from being interested and interesting. Our last chat was at the CanadInns during the Leadership Convention. She didn't have the strength to attend as a delegate but she was there, watching on TV from her room and occasionally coming down to the lobby to visit. She was an amazing woman and will be missed. Our deepest sympathies.

Dear Janet, Mr Evans, Brenda, and Randy,
I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget the times I spent with the family. The first time I visited with my children and Janet's family, or when I returned to Manitoba when I was thinking of relocating there. Mrs. Evans and I had a lovely trip from Winnipeg to Burdle, and then we both enjoyed looking at houses and dreaming what it would be like to run a Bed-and-breakfast in Burdle. I will always remember her great sence of humor and her love for the simple life. I am keeping all of you in my prayers, and treasure the wonderful memories that I have of her. Love and prayers, Heather

Alice and Len took me and my husband in for 2 weeks when we returned from a cruise and our car was under feet of snow. We got to know each other very well living in their guest room. She once called me an adopted granddaughter, to me a great compliment, and I consider her part of my chosen family. I just saw her back in April, and she was very positive about life, and warm and welcoming as always. I always admired her positive attitude.
I'm grateful to have known her and will always feel proud to have been so welcomed by both Len and Alice. I will miss her very much. My thoughts are with Len and her children and grandchildren.
