Our grandmother Shirley was an amazing woman. Words can't even come close to expressing how lucky we feel to have had her for so long. Some of our best childhood memories were created with our Grandmother. Summers in Brandon, going for long walks, dancing to her records and the time she always took to just sit and talk. Her wisdom and kindness will be remembered always. Shirley helped mold us into the people we have become today, and for that we are so grateful. Thank you for being such a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. We'll miss you everyday. Breanne Lukiw Christiansen and Danielle MacPherson

The sorrow I felt when hearing of Shirley's passing cannot be expressed in words. My name is Derek, and while it pains me greatly, I would like to take this time to say a few words.
Snow white hair, roast beef dinners, Chicken Dance and a mean baseball swing are permanent memories that always bring a smile to my face. While fun, I now suspect chasing the baseballs she hit was in an effort to tire me out. I'm still not sure how she managed me during the summers! The summers. The escape I anticipated yearly was full of adventure, mystery and joy. After an eternity in the sun, the summer would end and I would do one final Chicken Dance for the road. I was never sad as we drove away because there was next summer. The summers ended, but the bond we created is eternal. I love her and feel her in my heart; the feeling of security which cannot be explained is a constant reminder of her impact on my life.
Shirley was a strong and independent woman; a loving, giving, compassionate, wonderful mother and dear friend to many. Her love and guidance was monumental in making me the man I am today, and for that I will be forever grateful. We love her in passing as we did in life, and her memory will always be with us.
