I was saddened to hear of Helen's passing. Although I have not had the opportunity to stay in touch over the years I have often wondered how all of you were doing. I do recall her dignified approach to all situations and her passion for her family. She was proud of all of you and loved you to the moon and back. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Let the memories you have fill the hole that has been left in your hearts. Take Care. My deepest sympathy. Pat Whiteside

Our memories of Helen revolve around her love of family, independence, sense of humor and absolute grace. We had many opportunities to visit with Helen when she would travel to Haliburton to be with Shirley and Kelly. She was always kind, very engaging and quick to smile and laugh - qualities passed on to Shirley that will endure. Our deepest sympathies go out to my sister-in-law Shirley, brother Kelly, Gwen and Don, Morris and the rest of the family.

Helen and I were blessed with over 35 years of a very close friendship. We had many years of laughter, travelling to Florida, Arizona, Montreal, Quebec, enjoying the sights and cultures of these locations. We would go to movies, attend church, regularly, go out for suppers, talk daily on the phone. We would share good times and bad.
I was especially happy when she moved to Fairview and we got to see each other more often over the last year. I will miss her dearly but know she is in a good place.

Dear Shirley, Morris, Gwen and family,
What wonderful memories I have of our time spent together in our apartments on Elviss Cres! When I think of the definition of a lady, your Mother comes to mind. She did indeed live her life with dignity and grace and she was a wonderful and kind friend and neighbour!
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you say goodbye to this great lady. I feel blessed to have had her as a friend!
With sincere sympathy,
Penny Poston-Jones

I remember fondly visiting the family farm at Hargrave. I loved that Uncle Lem and Auntie Helen had shuffleboard and we children were allowed to play it. Auntie Helen was always the most gracious hostess. More recently I remember our long chats on the telephone. A chat with Auntie Helen was always a delight as we talked about all sorts of things. Our most recent chat was upon her return to Brandon last fall. She was so pleased to have returned and sounded so happy. One thing was certain with her and that was that her glass was always half full no matter what. Thinking of Gwen, Morris and Shirley and holding all of you in prayer. - Kathi Gatey (one of her many nieces)
