My daughter Katherine (Katie) Thorsteinson and I used to look forward to our annual lunch each summer with Evelyn. We would take her out for a lunch and then go to put flowers on Lindsay's grave and that of my grandparents. She was a wonderful friend to my mum, and after my mother Barbara Sarantakos died in 1990, she was a very good friend to me. I can't tell you how much I appreciated all the help she gave to me when my mum died. She helped me clear out my mother's house and helped me clean it from top to bottom; all the things when someone dies that need to be done but no one wants to help with. But she did, which is so typical of her, and I will always remember and be grateful for having her as a friend. We missed seeing her this summer when we came to Brandon from our cottage at Clear Lake, and I discovered she had died. She was a very special person, who had a wonderful laugh and a sharp wit. My thoughts are with you Edward on this anniversary of your mom's passing.
