Obituary of Frank Binda

BINDA: It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Frank Binda, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on Tuesday, August 12th, 2014, at the age of 75. Frank was born on May 7th, 1939, to Giuseppe (Joe) and Rosa Binda. At a young age, his family moved to Lac du Bonnet, when he met the love of his life, Judy. They were married June 25th, 1960. At the age of 16 he started his first job as a mechanic, which became his true passion in life. He worked at Champagne's Garage and Lavoie Motors until an opportunity at the Department of Highways brought his family to Brandon. He would later obtain his teaching degree and would lend others his knowledge by teaching Heavy Duty Mechanics at ACC, where he taught until retirement at age 55. Frank was a man who loved and lived life in a big way. Nothing brought greater joy to Frank than spending time with family and friends. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Judy, daughter Donna MacGranachan (Alec) and children Brendan and Shayne, son Danny Binda (Cathy) and children Izabella and Carter. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Edie Bryk of Lac du Bonnet and Sara Binda of Calgary, plus many other relatives in Italy. Frank was predeceased by his parents, brother Louis, in-laws, Theresa, John, Gail, Leo and Tony. Memorial service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel.
