Obituary of Vera Ethel Twitchell

TWITCHELL: Vera Ethel, born May 14, 1909, passed away peacefully at her residence, Fairview Home, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the age of 105 years. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James Franklin Twitchell. Survived by her daughter Marlene (Harold) Moffat of Calgary, AB, son Harold (Barbara) Twitchell of Guelph ON. Grandmother of Garth (Linda) of Moffat ON., Karen Twitchell of Orleans ON., Pamela (Jim) McPhail of Courtice, ON., Grant (Laurie) Moffat of Calgary AB. Great-grandmother of David, John, and Pamela Twitchell, Christopher and Brian McPhail, Stephanie and Robert Moffat and Alanna and Aaron Eberlee. She was predeceased by her parents Emma and William Phipps, sisters Joyce, Hilda, Ella, Hazel and brother Leslie. The family is especially grateful to all those who cared for her at Fairview Home for many years. We thank you for allowing her to live out her life in dignity. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Edmund Mielke officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the George Brockie Fellowship Centre, 332-8th Street, following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
