Please accept my condolences. Dr. Wilson brought all three of our children into the world, not one of them an easy go. He and my father Dr. Scherz of Oak Lake were friends and colleagues. My dad too died suddenly at the age of 76. Two great doctors and men gone too soon. Eveline Anderson and family.

Dear Mrs. Wilson & Family,
I am very sorry to hear about the sudden loss of Dr. Wilson. He was my Doctor for the birth of both of my children. He also helped me after my second child with a problem I was experiencing and for that I am most grateful for his care and support. He always had such a wry sense of humour and never missed the opportunity to have a good debate and let me know his opinion on a variety of topics. When I was in hospital for cancer surgery, he took time for a visit to let me know he was changing his career path to Chief of Staff at BRHA. Once he retired, when he would see me in the community he always wanted to let me know what he was doing and enquired about what I was doing. He spoke fondly and proudly of his family and all their accomplishments as well as any new hobbies that he had taken up. The last time we spoke he said he was really enjoying his retirement and the time he spent with his grandchildren. The world has lost a good man. He will missed by all.
With Sympathy

Our sympathy to the whole Wilson family.
Charlie, what a guy, what a doctor.
Our many years in Wawanesa were made so much easier because we knew that if there were any difficulties, a call to Charlie would solve and settle everything.
He will never know how much he was appreciated and respected by rural physicians.

Dear Mrs. Wilson and Family,
It was with a great deal of sadness , I learned of Dr. Wilson's passing.
He was my physician for so many years and delivered my one and only child in 1985. I worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia and Dr. Wilson was not only my favorite doctor but he was also my favorite customer! When he got very busy at the clinic or was delivering a baby, he would call me and I would do his banking for him over the phone...the old fashioned way...person to person!
I was a single Mother and was thrilled to learn that Dr.Wilson had left special instructions at the hospital to call him personally whenever I went into labour citing
that he was the only one that would be delivering my baby...even if he wasn't "on call".
When I did go into labour during clinic hours, he ran over to check on me at lunch and after clinic hours came and monitored me until my son was born at 1:50 in the morning! I will never forget his kindness!
I often see Thank you notes in the paper from patients thanking their Doctor but my guess is that no one ever Thanks the family for sharing so much of their loved one!
I know he was missed when he retired from his position and he will be missed by those who loved him so dearly.
With Sincerest Sympathy in your loss,
Penny Poston

Dear Mrs. Wilson and family:
Your husband, Dr. Wilson was my physician for many years. When I was pregnant with my son (1983), Dr. Wilson used to tease me that he knew who to call for a snow plow if I was in labour in a snowstorm. My dad and my family live just down the road at Williamson Farms and had various equipment to get your husband to the hospital in time for their only daughter's delivery. As I drive by on the way to visit my dad, I always wondered how Dr. Wilson was doing and would smile to myself about the snowplow.
I am very sad and sorry for you and your family to have lost such as intelligent, kind and caring husband, father and grandfather. He will live on in many, many patients' hearts forever.
Sincerely,
Pat Williamson

My first meeting with Dr. Wilson on a professional level was in 1990 when I became a nurses' aide in the Operating Room. He was my mother's doctor for many years and when he first saw me he called me Karen (my mother's name). I thought it was so cute that he thought I was her as I didn't think I looked that much like her. That became my name whenever he saw me cuz he could not remember mine...LOL. When you got him and Dr. Camrass together, with their stories, it never made for a dull day. My prayers are with your family at this time.

It is both a privilege and a pleasure to have known Dr. Wilson for over 35 years at the hospital. As the Manager of the Surgical Units it was always Dr. Wilson that could assist me with any issues that would arise. He would always have a story to share especially when he was the surgeon on call. I am so pleased to have been able to have a visit with him at Dr. Matthews retirement....I will cherish that conversation.
Thinking of you at this time....

My thoughts are with the Wilson family. Durning my years of working with Dr Wilson at the Brandon Clinic, I was amazed that in the stacks of files in his office he always knew when I had taken one. I would just have to enter his office, say the name of the patient file I was looking and he would point to a pile and tell me to put it back when I was done! We once even moved the sign from Medical Records and put it above his door. It was a pleasure to work for him. I will miss his visits to the clinic. Prayers and thoughts are with you all. To the family of the late Dr. Charles Wilson ... "Good Old Doctor Wilson" as I fondly remember him. He delivered my 2nd child (daughter) in 1970. He always called me by name whether in the clinic or in the community. I liked his style of doctoring; always forthright & kind. He was always on-my-case re: my weight (obesity he called it). The last time I saw him professionally (follow up appointment to surgery) in 1998, he told me he had good news for me ... as long as I was healthy & happy, the weight didn't matter. I asked him if he was sick? Never did I expect him to give me that kind of good news. He was a great man and a great doctor. He will be missed by many.

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Wilson's passing. I was delivered by Dr. Wilson and although I cannot attest to his performance that day over 40 years ago, my mother (Sandra Speight) spoke very highly of him and he always chatted her up whenever he saw her out and about, even as recently at the end of May this year. I did however have the privilege of working with Dr. Wilson at BGH executive offices where he was the Chief of Staff. I looked forward to seeing him as he was always so truly genuine, interesting and utterly hilarious. It is true what they say - "people may forget the things you say and do but they will not forget how you made them FEEL". I cannot remember all of the wonderful things Dr. Wilson said and did but I will never forget how he always make me feel very special and happier after talking with him.
Sincerely,
Karlyn Rubeniuk

My condolences to Mrs Wilson and Family on the passing of Dr Wilson. I have many fond memories of working with him at BGH, being a co-member on the Ethics committee and listening to many a story that he shared. He was a mentor to me when I first began my director position. Most importantly he delivered my daughter almost 31years ago. In more recent years we have had the privilege of being neighbors with the Wilson's and have had the pleasure of being able to plant lily bulbs that they shared from their beautiful gardens. May you find peace in the memories you share. Cathy Morgan & Gary Easter
