Jim Roach was very much a gentleman and kind spirit. Jim worked for my wife and I at the Time Warp Music Store in Brandon. I just wished that I had known him longer. We became a lot more like friends than employer/employee. Jim sure loved his music and was very knowledgeable in the classic rock and roll area of the 50s, 60s & 70s. He was a treasure to have in the store, as people really liked Jim, and he was always so eager to help our customers. I was born in northern Ontario back in '58, so Jim and I reminsced about many places like being at the Green Gables Hotel in White River when he worked the rail. After closing our store we moved back to B.C. in 2009. We kept in touch with Jim off and on over the 5 years and were sad to hear of his failing health. Jim called us to say "Hello" about a week before he passed. It always made my day to hear from Jim and I think of Jim often. I hope there is a good turntable up there in heaven with some near mint vinyl of good ol' rock and roll for Jim to enjoy. I really miss you my friend. Keep on rockin'! Terry & Sylvia Charter

I met Jim when he was in Schreiber. I was a teen(18 or so) looking for a good time and Jim was always entertaining. As a teen, we would scrape together cash for booze and plan for very little else. There would be big BBQ get togethers at Boswell Point or Rainbow Park. Jim had lots and was always willing to share. Jim was a gentleman who loved to share a story and a good laugh. We enjoyed many a trip at CPR together. At that time Jim liked a Rum and could handle it well. Much better than me. We lost touch after Schreiber but I have looked back fondly on many good times with "gentleman Jim". Please on behalf of myself and Schreiber join in a Rum and good story sharing together. I cannot think back on those times without smiling. Thank you Jim and Jim's family for sharing him. Brent Morrill, Schreiber Railroader
