David and Family, it was with much sadness to have learned of your Dad's passing. Doug and my late husband Mel began their careers with the Liquor Control Commission at the 7th Street and Pacific Avenue location, and a lasting friendship was made. The Liquor Store "family" provided many opportunities for our families to socialize through the years. I have many fond memories of good times spent with your Dad and Mom. May your memories bring you comfort at this time. I hope it helps somewhat to know that others are keeping you all close in thought. ~ Kindest personal regards, Irene and daughters Carole, Donna, Brenda and Families

It is with sadness that Beryl and I hear of Doug's passing. I met Doug when I moved to Brandon in 1976 and started work at the liquor store on 10th st. As well as working together we also did a bit of fishing and hunting and along with Rick Potter, we planted the trees along the west side of the farm property. I enjoyed working and spending leisure time with Doug. We are sorry for your loss. We are out of town and will not be able to attend his memorial.
Condolences
