My sincerest sympathies on the passing of your father. I have fond memories of seeing your Dad walking and biking in the Green Acres neighbourhood, and seeing him working in the yard on Fernwood Crescent. May your fond memories of both of your parents comfort you all through this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Spring Tallant

I only knew Floyd for the past year as he greeted me on my almost daily visits to Fairview. I know he enjoyed my handshake but he had such a strong grip that I would avoid his left hand which was really strong. We would laugh about this and then he would wait to catch me on my way out. I'm sure that I enjoyed these happy encounters as much as Floyd and missed him on the few days he wasn't there. His joyfulness was amazing, he was a good example to all of us. So long Floyd, I won't forget you. Go in peace.

Tannis,Renald,Eric and families I was indeed saddened to learn of Floyd's passing and yet relieved to know he is now at rest.As i knew during my last visits and telephone conversations that he was not comfortable in his health condition. It was so apparent that his quality of life had passed. He was such a thoughtful, active man and a great friend,We visited often when i would be in Brandon. We often spoke of mutual friends.and working together at the BMH. and taking accordion lessons.. It was a pleasure to hear him play some years later.Of course you will miss him greatly.but knowing others share your grief and that he and your mother will again be together, hopefully , will provide some comfort.,Thank you so much for phoning me about your Dad's passing.Renald. Sincere Regards . Ervin"Dave" Davis or "Junior".. of Rimbey .AB

Well, where do I start, I will start by saying how much I will miss Floyd, that smile that face that just made you want to smile all day and forget your troubles. Floyd loved sitting inside the front entrance of Fairview just watching people walk in and out, but sometimes he would take a little power nap, lol, everytime he saw me coming to the dining room and start my shift he would always wave at me and of course I had to go over and say hi where in turn he would grab my hand and give me one of his famous handshakes, and then rub the top of my hand. I lost my father six years ago and I think Floyd kind of filled that empty spot I had. Tannis it will be strange not seeing you anymore, but maybe we will come across each other in town sometime. My deepest and heart felt condolences to you and your family. May you Rest in Peace Floyd Nelson.
