Auntie Anne will be remembered for so many things. Firstly, she was a delightful face at every holiday gathering well into her nineties. She'd bring treats for the kids and her exceptional piroshky for the rest of us. She inspired me to learn how to make them even if I could never quite master the delicate size of hers. As a child I received many creative gifts from her like a beautiful princess doll throne made from tin and a wood and spool varnished doll table and chair set. She sewed the dress I wore as a flower girl for my Aunt Linda's wedding and then in 1990 she sewed the dress my flower girl wore for our wedding. As a child I remember family picnics picking mushrooms, finding saskatoons or searching out the coldest and cleanest spring water to use in preparing dill pickles. Her garden was so well tended and fun to visit. She was a special and well-loved Great Aunt and she will be fondly remembered and missed.
