Obituary of Lisa Senicki

Lisa Senicki passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the age of 59, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lisa was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She enjoyed spending summers with her Mom and sister, Donna, at the cottage at West Hawk Lake.  She enjoyed Polish culture and dancing.  Lisa attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a degree in mathematics.

Lisa lived an adventurous life. Her first job after university was as a weather observer for Environment Canada in the High Arctic where she met her husband, Garry. After several years of working in the Arctic, she and her husband moved to Brandon where she started a new career with the province as an employment counsellor helping people with disabilities. She was kind and generous and was always thinking of others before herself. 

 She especially loved to travel and swim in the ocean. Her favourite beach was in Negril, Jamaica. 

Lisa was predeceased by her father Walter (Sonny), and sister Donna.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Garry Lys, mother Chesia and her husband Bela Lorinc.

The family would especially like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Western Manitoba Cancer Care Centre for their care and compassion with Lisa.  In lieu of flowers, donations toward Multiple Myeloma research would be appreciated.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Church, 15 Columbia Dr., Winnipeg, with interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
